Kaslo British Columbia Unknown Object (UFO)

Posted: August 1, 2008

Date: July 30, 2008
Time: 10:15 p.m.

My friend and I were on the porch when she pointed out this light in the sky. It was very bright, circular and low (if planes fly at about 10'000 meters, this was probably around 4 or 5'000) heading from North-West to South-East, it really stuck out and if a star is a pin, this was the size of a ping-pong ball. There was not one cloud in the sky, the milky way was clearly visible as all the other stars from one side of the valley to the other. I can tell you what it wasn't (not a plane, no flashing lights, not a satellite, way too big, not a shooting star or meteor, too 'mechanical' of a movement) but I have no idea what it was, so hypothetically an unidentified flying object. I checked the night after for half an hour at the same time to verify that it wasn't a 'fallen' satellite as it should have the same trajectory? I don't know, I'm grasping at straws here.

It sure was fascinating to watch, it was visible for a good 30 seconds, straight line, then faded into oblivion not to be seen again, way before it reached the other side of the valley (and thus the mountain peaks). We googled it and saw someone had a sighting in 2005 in the area that pretty much described the same light we saw. Sorry, but no pictures or videos, but we both saw the same thing and did not drink or take drugs and we were completely lucid (just to specify).

Thank you to the witness for their report.
